Top Brass Police Instructed to Concoct Criminal Charges Against Gift, the SWALIMO International Affairs Secretary Swazi Voice Of The People News 18 March 2025 Mbabane: Police have been instructed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist the department by concocting criminal charges against Gift Dlamini, the Swaziland Liberation Movement (SWALIMO) International Affairs Secretary. The charges that are being preferred are to an alleged rape of his girlfriend that is said to have occurred in December 2021. A source, that is approached to be a key witness in the case, revealed that she was approached by police to confirm the allegations and write a statement to that effect. She has disclosed that she knows about the lady that she believes is in a relationship with Dlamini but does not recall any rape as alleged.
As an act of intimidation, the police are said to have engaged the husband of the lady as a means to cause her to surrender any information she might have on the case that is being concocted against Dlamini. The source, name withheld for now, further revealed that she met the top brass from the police headquarters. The Swazi Voice has names of the police officers, and their names are withheld for now. They gave her a statement to sign and to her surprise, they had not written what she had said but had something to that effect that she was confirming that she knowns about the incident, something that she asked them to correct as that was not the truth. Surprisingly, other sources that are in the Republic of Ireland have revealed similar attempts by the State security to concoct criminal charges, not only about the SWALIMO International Relations Secretary, but the activists that attended the Swazis Meet and Greet in Ireland. One source revealed that she was called by high ranking officials in government warning her to stay clear of Gift and SWALIMO as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Eswatini will use their diplomatic ties to make things worse for them in Ireland. The source emphasized that the source mentioned that a concocted case against Gift is at the final stages, and they are confident that they will be successful in getting back the SWALIMO leader as he is causing political challenges with his activism in Ireland. A source within the police department has confirmed this as true and that they are being assisted by the hatred in the opposition circles that is giving their case all the ammunition that they need. He further revealed that a warrant of arrest is being created and back dated with other minor details being attended to before the diplomatic engagement with the Ireland counterparts could be commenced. The Swazi Voice can reveal that it is an online news platform and a former police officer that have been leading the allegations that Dlamini is alleged to have abused his girlfriend on December 2021, an allegation that was denied and clarified by Dlamini. These allegations surfaced after Dlamini had reported that he received a call from the late Bheka Magagula, an alleged solidarity force that was found slain, to the effect who was responsible for his death. Amidst the safety and security challenges emanating from the State agents and the ones who are threatening his life, Dlamini is seeking international protection in Ireland. When asked to comment on the latest revelations, Dlamini confirmed that he has been informed by a comrade that she has been approached to assist in building up a case against him. He further stated that he is not worried about all the attempts as he wants to focus on fighting for liberation of the nation. “Whatever comes will come and I am the least worried about all these mudslinging, either from the State or those who are thought to be part of us. I live one day at a time, and I fight each battle as it comes. For now, I am busy with organizing the international work in SWALIMO and would cross the bridge when I come to this if it would see the light of day anyway” , Dlamini quipped when asked for his opinion.
