Brazil Hot Air Balloon Crash Kills Eight in Santa Catarina
At least eight people have died after a hot air balloon crashed in Praia Grande, southern Brazil, according to Santa Catarina state governor Jorginho Mello.
Posting on social media platform X, Mello confirmed that 21 people were on board at the time of the crash, with 13 survivors. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene to assist the victims and their families.
“Our teams continue to provide all necessary support to families and victims,” Mello stated, adding that the situation remains under close monitoring.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the accident
