Candy Frazer, a dedicated community police volunteer in Eswatini, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt carried out by two armed gang members seeking revenge. The attack, which occurred on Thursday, March 14th, 2025, marks the sixth time Frazer has been targeted both at his home and on patrol in the neighborhoods he diligently protects.

According to sources close to the incident, the two gang members—who are affiliated with a criminal group seeking retribution—arrived armed with two steel-forged blades. They claimed to be acting on orders from their gang leader, who was recently arrested by Frazer and his team. The gang members reportedly followed Frazer, intending to ambush and kill him as an act of revenge.

However, Frazer demonstrated quick thinking and resourcefulness. Using a pellet blank gun, he managed to outsmart the attackers, causing them to abandon their attempt and enabling his timely escape. The assailants were later apprehended by police officers responding to the scene.

In a phone interview, Frazer expressed his distress, saying, “My brother, I am in trouble. This is the sixth time I have been attacked. I am doing my best to serve and protect, but the danger keeps coming. I fear for my life and my family’s safety.”

The community and local authorities have condemned the attack, emphasizing the importance of protecting volunteers like Frazer who are on the front lines of crime prevention. Community leaders have called for increased security measures and support for volunteers who put their lives at risk to maintain peace.

Law enforcement officials are currently holding the apprehended gang members for questioning and are urging anyone with information about the attacks to come forward. They also reassured the public that they are working diligently to ensure the safety of community volunteers and to dismantle criminal networks operating in the area.

This incident underscores the ongoing dangers faced by community police volunteers in Eswatini and highlights the urgent need for heightened protection and support from authorities to prevent further violence.
